Thursday!

The topic in our art discussion today was ........ sketchbooks! I drew this box of chocolates into my favorite Aquabee sketchbook a few years ago. It remains one of my all-time favorite sketches!
To see what everyone brought to the meeting......go HERE.

I can see why. The box has the feel of a sketch but I feel I could pick a chocolate right out of the sketch. Wonderful, would be a nice print. Glad you are on the mend.

Celeste, you must know that chocolate fixes everything! Great sketch. Don'tcha think it's worthy of a frame?

Some of the sketches indeed are sketches, others are paintings, some more gestural and sketchy, some more tightly finished. A sketch to me is done quickly; it's a first impression. A study takes longer, an hour or two. Some of these look like studies to me, if not paintings, by the heir degree of finish. A box of chocolates is a sketch--a good one that does deserve a frame. The group is a good one. Lots of talent and skill.

Celeste!
Love your sketches.
Love your use of gouache!
I have also painted a bit with that medium and enjoy it for similar reasons!
The chocolates made me so very hungry!
Take care buddy!
