Just a sketch

I've been missing from blogging-land for awhile because I have been working on an un-art-related project.  I seriously under-estimated how much time it will take!  Well, meanwhile,  I was able to fit in this sketch from an old-timey photo. I love vine charcoal....it is so........smudgy.

Sketch: Celeste Bergin, Woman in big hat, charcoal on toned 6x9 sketchbook

Smudgy! I had my hands on some charcoal yesterday but ended up purchasing some Prismacolor Premier pencils instead. Soon for the charcoal though-I love the look of your sketch!

Good luck on your un-art project, Celeste.
Great drawing!
I always wind up wearing too much charcoal by the time I'm done.

What a wonderful smudgy drawing. Love it.
Don't get worn out - still early days from your surgery.

Another wonderful sketch!
Hope your other project is at least fun and on it's way to completion.

You are always missed! So glad to have you and your art gracing the internet. Thank you!

Nice. She looks like she's rethinking some big un-art-related project.

Another Sargent feel for me, Celeste. This is amazing. And it looks like a fabulous look on her face. I can't believe what you achieved here with not so many lines.

I love vine too. The drawing has the mood of another era. Nice. And the two paintings from your last two posts are spectacular I love the color and the energy. Beautiful.

What a fun drawing, Celeste! I sympathize with your non-art project time commitment: stuff almost always takes longer than I think it will. I'm currently away from home, helping my folks, and EVERYTHING takes much longer than I anticipate.
