Tuesday!

I have this old coat from the late 60's that I just can't part with. I painted it and wrote about it once before (4 years ago). I hung it up in the front room tonight to paint this study in black and white gouache. I will do a real painting of it one day. It is by far my favorite item of apparel.

Study: Celeste Bergin, Shaft Coat, gouache on 10x8 gessoed paper

Dialogue
Said the painter to the coat,
"Hang around and I'll paint you."
Said the coat to the painter,
"I could use another coat."

I can see why you like it so well. It is definitely stylish.

I think I had a coat like this, too. It shrank so I gave it away. Nice drawing, and I like your bird from a few days back.

Very chic! I love the black and white version...kind of lends credence to the coat being from the 60's...like looking at old family photos (which I love to do, no matter the family).

I love this coat and I remember the 2009 drawing when you did it.
Both the 2009 drawing and your most recent one is spectacular!
As always, I love the way you see. Beautiful.

I love this newest sketch of your favorite coat! I love the colors in the last landscape too.

I'm with you, I would want to keep the coat. :)

I think I had one just like it. Nice sketch. I t would make a fun painting. I went to an exhibit once where the artist had simply mounted the clothes she wore to meaningful events in plexiglass cases. Next to each one, there was the story of why that article of clothing was special. I loved the show. The times of our lives, women's lives, are often recalled by the clothes we wore. Fascinating exhibit.

You've created a personality here with a solidness that says 'I'm not going anywhere!' I can tell it's here to stay :)
