It was a beautiful day today in Portland. We took a lunch and went to Powell Butte. (Where I ultimately painted this tree). I'm on a tree kick.

The regular parking lot was closed we had to find another entrance and walk and walk what seemed an interminable amount to get to the old orchard that I remembered from my last visit.

Here a couple immortalizes their visit at this strange structure near the orchard.

Going down the stairs was much easier than going up.

This woman had a 4x5 Linoff Technika and was under a dark cloth trying to get what she described as a rainbow of colors in a bunch of rocks. I wish I could see the end result!

Did you have a good day? :)

Love that staircase! Nothing wrong with being on a tree lick! I could go on one myself:) Loved the walk-thanks as always for a chance to see your area.

Now that looks like a beautiful day and look at the beautiful tree! Apple trees often have a gnarled trunk, don't they? I love the painting but then I am definitely a tree hugger. You've made me want to get over to our Starved Rock state park again too!

I love the backyard tree and that you painted there. We still can't get out that door. Both these trees have a colorful life of their own. The park tree's expression strikes me as a bit more subdued than the backyard tree with the red that sings. Lucky you out in the plein air in March.

Looking at you going down stairs
with your arms out, balancing (?),
and then viewing your Tree in the
, it leaves one wondering;
on your picnic how was the wine?
What? You didn't have any? You
mean this is your tree kick? That's cool.

Gros bisous
