Last evening I participated in an art evening with friends. The idea was to paint in Lindy and Vicki's back yard.

There were plenty of subjects to chose from.  My intention was to paint 3 or 4 starts...but I spent too much time on a birdhouse. It didn't work out. Next, I whipped out a quasi-passable squirrel from a concrete sculpture. It was a fun time!

(L to R), Lindy, Vicki, Nila, Cam and me. (Dave, 'the paparrazi' was behind the camera).

(.....and "the paparazzi" couldn't resist this photo in a garden globe).

Now, this looks like a fun time! That squirrel is great, described so well with so few strokes.

Looks like a similar palette to the woman you painted that I thought looked a bit like Susan Sarandon. I think the squirrel is wonderful and if the paparazzi didn't give you a great photo for you to paint, I don't know...what a cool photo!!!

Love this post Celeste! You are fortunate to have such a great group of art friends! Love the squirrel!

That looks like such a fun evening. I would love to see what the others chose in the yard. Your squirrel came out really good though you better tell us how you got it to "sit".

The other painting is really bold with the deep red and purple. I have never been so brave, nor somewhat abstract either.

You whipped out a Squirrel. That made me laugh. This looks like a lot of fun.

Gros bisous ♡

The group photo is friendly and the famous "paparazzi" seems to be a happy dog! ...
A very nice post ... and after all, your little squirrel is adorable with all these beautiful colors.
Kisses ♡

thanks, Martine!
