Tuesday!

I discovered today that Montavilla is a decent place to paint cityscape. I got to set up close to Bipartisan Cafe and directly next to my car.  It was super-hot weather today, so I put myself on the shady side of the street.

The meter maid came by once. The neighborhood barber came by. A guy on a bike asked me where the bike store is. (I didn't know).

Big highlight, my painting friend Joanne also came by....but she couldn't stay to paint.  Maybe next week. Want to join us?

Hello my dear Celeste,

I feel you are very comfortable painting urban areas.
The result is obvious and wonderful in my eyes ...
You have done so happily juggling the colors together. I hope you go there once more and I'm eager to see the next.

I think you have impressed more than one way ...

I give you big kisses and thank you for your spontaneity comments that are dear to me.

What a fabulous street scene you've painted. And you've captured the sunlight and the joy of your day in the painting itself. I love it!! And yes...I want to join you!!

Celeste, good for you to paint where you are being interrupted. I painted plein air in HI a few years ago and didn't enjoy the process because people kept stopping by. I remember once, at a road pull-out view of a gorgeous canyon/valley, just wiping off the painting and leaving. I am now seriously thinking of developing a wc color journal on the spot...supporting by photographs.

Love the painting. Love the fact you set up on the street. When you say "they" let you, who is "they." Also what equipment do you take and how do you take it? These are questions novice street painters would like answers to. Very balsy my dear. Love the whole idea of it.

LW..."they"? I don't know....what you mean?

I have several portable easels. On this day I used my Open M pochade box. I have it in a backpack. :)

Celeste, love the light and bright city scape! Amazing what yellow brings to a painting! This one is a little gem! So beautiful, I love it!

Looking West on Stark . . .

drew me in with its
loose quality, it's
vibrant colors in
the shade, and I want
to walk into this
painting, west on Stark,
and feel surrounded
by ambient awe,
the artist's success.
