Portrait practice

This study was painted with the very uncomplicated Zorn palette (White, Yellow Ochre, Cad Red and Black).

I looked at all of the careful placement of strokes and color close up. Really nice!

Always a fun palette but one I haven't tried yet. I am thinking I may give it a go!

Unlike yours, my palette is out of control these days. I think I'll take your lead and pare it down. I'd be lucky to get close to this lovely portrait.
